Why We Go
Every year, God has called us back to Tijuana, Mexico to serve with Homes of Hope. This incredible ministry builds safe, secure homes for families living in poverty—many who have been surviving in makeshift shelters of wood scraps, cardboard, or tarps.
In just two days, with a team of volunteers, a family’s life is changed forever. Walls go up, a roof is placed overhead, doors and windows close out the wind and rain—and hope is restored.
But the mission goes far beyond building four walls. Each home is a symbol of:
- Stability – a foundation for children to grow up safe.
- Dignity – parents empowered to care for their families.
- Faith – God’s love made visible in a tangible way.
The Heart Behind Homes of Hope
What started as one home in 1990 has grown into a global movement. Since then, thousands of homes have been built in nations around the world, providing families with more than shelter—offering them a future.
We love Homes of Hope because they make it possible for everyday people—families, churches, coworkers, and friends—to step into God’s story. You don’t have to be a builder or a missionary. You just have to show up, bring willing hands, and let God do the rest.

More Than Construction
Every time we go, we’re reminded: this is not just about building houses. It’s about building relationships, community, and faith. We’ve prayed with families as they’ve received the keys to their first real home. We’ve worshiped with neighbors. We’ve seen hope come alive.
The physical house is just the beginning. The true foundation is Christ.
Why This Matters
We believe God calls us to love our neighbor—not just with words, but with action. A simple home can be the spark that breaks the cycle of poverty for generations. And every home built is a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
