Our Journey of Faith & Service
From building houses to building a marriage grounded in Christ.
Where It All Began
Our story didn’t start with candlelight dinners or long phone calls—it began on the mission field.
In May 2022, we officially met for the first time on a Homes of Hope trip to Mexico. What started out as playful banter—teasing each other, sharing laughs, and exchanging witty remarks—quickly turned into something deeper. Beneath the fun, there was an undeniable connection. We could talk about life, faith, and the things that mattered most.
At first, our bond felt more like brother and sister. But God was already planting seeds of something much greater.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
A Love That Grew Through Serving
That summer, we returned to Mexico twice more. As leaders for our high school group, we got to witness each other’s passion for the next generation, for ministry, and for serving with open hands and open hearts.
It was on our third trip, in August 2022, that everything changed. With fewer distractions and more time to simply serve and talk, we grew closer than ever. We built homes side by side, shared stories, and discovered the depths of each other’s hearts.
By the end of that trip, I knew something that felt both scary and certain—this was the man I wanted to marry one day.
God’s Perfect Timing
But when we returned home, it felt like the story paused. Months went by with barely a word exchanged. We saw each other at church in passing, but that was it.
In September 2023, we reconnected for a season, but both of us were walking through struggles. Neither of us were where God needed us to be, and so we parted ways. At the time, it was painful. But now we see God’s grace so clearly—He was protecting us, saving our relationship for His perfect timing.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1
The Story Continues
That timing came in February 2024, when we “just happened” to run into each other at Billy Bob’s Dance Hall. We danced, we laughed, we talked—and we never stopped.
By August 2024, Tanner asked me to be his forever, and with joy in my heart, I said yes! Then in February 2025, God brought us back to Mexico—the very place our story began—this time as a couple. Watching my soon-to-be husband serve with strength, humility, and joy reminded me exactly why I fell in love with him: his love for Jesus and for people shines in everything he does.
On March 29, 2025, we became husband and wife—ready to walk this journey together wherever God may lead.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
Our Shared Calling
Mexico will always hold a piece of our hearts. It’s where we first met, where our love grew, and where God revealed the calling He’s written into both of us: to serve, to love, and to bring hope beyond the walls.
We know that one day God may call us to make Mexico our home. Until then, we count it the greatest honor to serve on short-term trips—building houses, building hope, and building a marriage centered on Christ.
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
Because to love each other deeply and to serve Him wholeheartedly is the greatest adventure we could ever dream of.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13
